Basic Tips

  1. Bookmark this site for easy reference. While using the tool, keep this site open in a separate browser window so that you can toggle back and forth without losing the data you've entered in the form.
  2. Don't try to complete the online version of the tool from scratch. It's better to print it out, noodle over the domains, and then complete in pen or pencil. Then go back to the online version and complete, using your notes as a guide.
  3. For longer responses in the text fields, you may want to type them into a word processing program and then cut and paste into the form.
  4. Don't worry about the fact that some questions may overlap in different domains. The numerous domains and dimensions are designed to give an overall cumulative portrait of where you see your knowledge and skills.
  5. Don't forget to complete all the fields and then check the "submit" button to send.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Q. What happens to the information that I submit?
  2. A. Your data is transmitted via email to Michael Sikes. It transmits in the form of letters and numbers, as well as text you enter. Individual responses are not shared with anyone; only combined data goes to NASAA and the NEA.

  3. Q. What if I'd like an individual report of my ratings?

    A. The quickest way is to simply tabulate your own ratings. For each domain, total your responses and divide by the number. This will give you your average rating for that domain. If you can wait longer, I can tablulate them for you. Simply email me with the request (see below).

Encountering Difficulties

  1. Q. You're unable to access the Web site.
  2. A. The server could be down. Wait a while and come back. Or try clicking on refresh in the menu. Because of differences in browsers and platforms, the tool may work differently for you. However, it should be compatible with most major combinations of computer system and browser software.
